Rachelle has been a huge blessing in my life. In June of 2012, I had a total left knee joint replacement which failed and had to be removed a year later. A second implant was done and despite intense physical therapy, deep scar tissue formed causing chronic pain and inflammation. I tried many alternative approaches which helped; however, individual sessions with Rachelle have decreased the pain & inflammation more than any of the others.  Rachelle is very committed to her clients, providing a serene, stress-free environment in which she designs an individualized sequence of gentle poses along with breathing techniques that alleviate the pain/stress cycle. Rachelle seems to intuitively know just what I need at each session. The minute I walk into her office, I feel much more peaceful and relaxed. She is patient, encouraging, clear in her directions, meticulous about writing and illustrating exactly what I am supposed to do at home, and very skilled in placing my body in the right way so that no injuries occur. Her voice is angelic and calming. She listens to me very carefully, and accomplishes all this with loving kindness. My pain is much less, my gait continually improves, and if I occasionally put excessive stress on my knee, the recovery time is much faster than before.

Before I found yoga therapy, I had begun to lose myself in chronic pain. Through this healing work, I am becoming reacquainted with myself, and am beginning to experience the freedom that comes from welcoming myself just as I am. This freedom allows me to feel more confident and relaxed when facing the stressors of daily life. Rachelle is kind, intuitive to my needs, and provides a safe space for me to be vulnerable and authentic.

I have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis for almost 20 years.  I began working with Rachelle to try to regain some flexibility.  Rachelle led me into my practice gently and with humor or sensitivity when it was needed.  Along the way I have come to realize how spirituality and physicality go hand in hand in yoga practice. Rachelle has also taught me about improving my body awareness. Being able to recognize this has already made a dramatic difference in my life. In the eight months of my practice, my balance has improved as have my strength and flexibility. The progress made has been very gratifying.
